Maa TV anchor turned actress - COLORS SWATHI's biography


    Swati Reddy is also well known as Colours Swati is a talented young actress Indian film actress and television presenter. Her nickname and fame comes from her role in the television show, Colours, which was telecasted on the Telugu station, Maa TV, in Andhra Pradesh.


    She was born in Vladivostok (USSR). Her father worked for the Indian Navy and he was then posted in USSR as a submariner. The Russian lady doctor named her as ‘Svetlana’ which means ‘beautiful girl’ but her mom changed it to Swati.

    After her birth they shifted to Bombay and then to the Eastern Naval Command in Vizag. She spent most of herchildhood in Vizag. When she was in my 11th standard, she shifted to Hyderabad.

    She got her start when one day while she visited family she did an audition for a Kids Show. Since she spent most of her life in Mumbai she had to study the Telugu language.

    When swathi was seen conducting colours program, there itself her talent was visible and apparent.


    She is very good in acting and failed to create a vacuum in film industry as heroin.

    Her debut in silver screen with a Telugu movie "Danger" directed by creative director, Krishna Vamsi in 2006. But the film was commercially flopped.

    After essaying supporting roles, she made her debut in the year 2008, as a leading role actress in the Tamil film Subramaniyapuram with Jai which was the block buster hit of the year. The film was dubbed in telugu as Ananthapuram 1980..

    Later her role in the Telugu film Ashta Chamma received critical acclaim and she garnered her the Filmfare Award and Nandi Award for Best Actress.

    She had also lent her voice to dub for Ileana D'Cruz in Jalsa.

    In 2011, she came into limelight as a playback singer with her bubbly and vivacious voice for the song (A square B square)in the album 100 percent love. The movie cast by Naga Chaitanya, Tammanna, and the music compose by her best friend Devi Sriprasad.


    In 2010, she gave her voice to an HIV/AIDS education animated software tutorial created by the nonprofit organization Teach AIDS.

    Swathi is very beautiful and cute actress. Till date Swathi entertained audience with her funny dialogue delivery and acting skills.
